This squad is aiming for swimmers to be competing at Junior State Championships, and extends fundamental training skills accross all strokes and disciplines. The focus of this squad is to enhance swimmers ability to maintain correct technique under pressure in both training and racing environments. 

This squad offers 6 sessions a week and it is recommended that swimmers attend 4-5 sessions per week.

It is compulsory that swimmers are SSPW club members and are expected to have swimming as one of their major sports throughout the year.

We run our swimming programmes across two seasons - Summer and Winter.

Summer 2023/2024

Our winter season times run from the 9th October 2023, through to the 28th March 2024.

All afternoon sessions through summer are held at the Penrhos College Pool. Mornings remain at Wesley College Pool.

Land Training:

Once swimmers have progressed to this group we introduce a land based, strength and conditioning program.

These sessions run Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 4:15pm-4:45pm (Summer) and 4:00pm-4:30pm (Winter).

Over Summer these sessions are held at Penrhos College and over Winter they are at Wesley College. 

These sessions are designed to introduce the basics of strength and conditioning, which will be built on whilst they progress through the squads.
